- The Government enters the consultation phase of the new EU proposed ammendment of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) Directives. WEEE Recycling issues
Did you know that the disposal of what is called WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) has specific laws in the UK? In January of 2007 the WEEE Directive came into force in the UK, see Environment Agency Web Site.
What about data protection? Certain types of information held on computers (see About The Data Protection Act) must be completely wiped before the computer can be recycled. Don't worry we can do this for you - this type of wiping is different from the normal deleting of a file you may perform as a routine, it involves special software to completely wipe the data.
