Disposing Old Computer

Computers are a part of life these days. Today it would be very difficult for us to imagine our lives without computers. There are many jobs that are nearly impossible for a human to complete but for computer it is not that difficult. Just like any other thing computers have changed a lot. Taking a small example of calculation we may get to know the importance of computer in our life. If we need to calculate 2 + 2 it is easy for us, but what about calculating 4558664 * 574 + 74344384 – 84549 * 4358475, humans will take hell lot of time for calculating it but computers will do it within milliseconds. This shows how a computer has helped human kind in progress.

Old is gold
Old computers that were developed in early stages were not good enough to compete with the technologies that we have today. Early stage of old computers were based on valves and vacuums where as computer of today depends on processors, diodes, triodes and many small chips that make it work better and faster. There were only two companies that use to make processors and they were Intel and Motorola. These two companies made 8 bit 16 bit 32 bit and 64 bit processors. Nowadays we have more companies that work on developing processors. Processor is the main part of computer that tells a computer what to do? How to do? When to do? These days’ people prefer recycling old computers.

Generations of computers
First generations of the computer started in 1940s and were huge and too slow as worked with vacuum tube. Second generation computers were faster as they were based on electronic devices. It was more often used for calculation. It helped humans a lot in huge calculations. A second generation computer is ABM 7000. It include integrated chip i.e. IC. Third generation computer was IBM 360 and it was much faster than any of the computer ever developed. 4th generation computer made a drastic change in the world today. These computers were more efficient, cheaper, and much lighter and too faster than any of the computer developed previously.

Recycling old Computer
These days’ people are throwing their old computers in trash or are recycling old computers. People don’t have the knowledge of recycling old computers. One thing should be kept in mind is that you should remove the data from you old machine to avoid the identity theft. You can also donate your old machine to the people who really need them. There are many people in the world who need a computer but cannot afford to buy a computer, so one should prefer to donate their old computer to such people rather than recycling old computers. If your children are older then they will not accept you old computers, but your younger child will accept it. We use to upgrade our PCs to newer versions that are available in the market. Changing the operating system, mother board, ram, hard disk, etc. helped us to get much better speed than our previous versions. Upgrading our old computer is a better option for the users to get what you want from your computer. Stay in touch with the newer technologies and keep upgrading your computer avoid recycling old computers.
